Marcia Kingslow
Marcia Kingslow is President of Kingslow Associates LLC, which for over 22
years has provided research, evaluation, strategic planning, and technical
assistance services in the areas of economic, workforce, and community
development. She has a specialty in food and agriculture systems and is
particularly focused on strengthening the sector's contribution to urban and
regional economic development, job creation, sustainable development, and
right-sizing strategies.
Marcia has extensive experience conducting
multi-site evaluations and assessments in cities and regions around the
country, as well as providing design, capacity building, and implementation
assistance to projects and initiatives. Her clients have included the Annie
E. Casey Foundation, Ford Foundation, MacArthur Foundation, W.K. Kellogg
Foundation, University of Maryland, National League of Cities, various U.S.
Department of Agriculture agencies, and others. Her work with Mt. Auburn
includes evaluations of the SkillWorks Initiative, the Surdna Foundation's
Community Revitalization Program, and (with Regional Technology Strategies)
the Arkansas Creative Economy Project.
Prior to founding Kingslow
Associates, Marcia served as Director of Economic Development for the
Maryland Food Committee and City Planner for the Philadelphia City Planning
Commission and Baltimore Department of Planning. Marcia earned a Master of
Regional Planning degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor
of Science degree from Boston University. She is a former Fellow of the
National Center for Food and Agriculture Policy.
