Research Associate (Remote)

Description

We're looking for a full-time Research Associate to join our team at Mt. Auburn. As a key member, you'll provide essential project support to senior staff on national and local initiatives related to community investment, affordable housing, inclusive growth, small business development, workforce development, economic mobility, health equity, community resilience, and creative economies.

As a Research Associate at Mt. Auburn, you'll be immersed in multiple projects simultaneously, engaging in extensive qualitative and quantitative research. Your tasks will include designing and analyzing surveys, conducting and synthesizing interviews, and collecting and analyzing secondary data. Additionally, you'll be expected to communicate your findings effectively through various mediums, such as memos, PowerPoint presentations, and written case studies and reports. Working within a small organization offers you the unique opportunity to participate in all facets of our firm's work, interacting not only with senior leadership but also engaging as a fellow thought partner on project teams.

Qualifications

While we expect candidates to possess many of the preferred qualifications listed below, possessing all of them is not an absolute necessity. A wide range of experiences may equip an individual to excel as a Research Associate at Mt. Auburn.

  • BA/BS plus 1-2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated interest in Mt. Auburn’s core competencies (internships and coursework acceptable)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to conduct mixed-methodology research (i.e., experience with surveys, interviews, focus groups, literature reviews, etc.)
  • Proficiency in accurately synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • Strong proficiency in data visualization
  • Excellent organizational skills, interpersonal and communication skills, and flexibility
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to complete project tasks and meet deadlines
  • Interest in and commitment to social justice and racial equity
  • Willingness to travel within the U.S., on occasion

Location

This is a fully remote position based in the United States, with a preference for individuals in Massachusetts or New York. Mt. Auburn provides all necessary equipment and materials required for the position.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range is $54,000-60,000, commensurate with experience, with an opportunity for an annual bonus. We offer a generous benefits package, including three weeks of vacation, paid holidays, sick leave, a comprehensive health plan, company-paid dental, vision, LTD, and life insurance. A 401(k) matching contribution is available after the first year of employment. Mt.
